On Cat Island, a modern coastal home had the architecture but not the outdoor living to match. We added a clean light-grey paver patio and a winding path that connects the home front-to-back, creating a private, contemporary lounge space that fits the house.

The Problem
This contemporary Cat Island home had clean lines, big windows, and a raised porch — but the ground around it was unfinished and disconnected. There was no comfortable place to sit outside, and no clear way to move from the front of the house to the back along the narrow side yard.
Our Solution
We matched the architecture with a light-grey paver patio in a clean, modern layout that complements the home’s palette rather than competing with it. A gently winding paver path wraps along the side of the house, connecting the front entry to the rear patio and making the whole lot flow as one space.
The patio was sized and based for real outdoor living — lounge seating, a grill, and room to move — with the grade set to carry Lowcountry rain away from the foundation. Crisp borders and a restrained color keep everything feeling as contemporary as the house itself.
